Did you see me standing there? Shining like a flickering neon sign. faded broken beams of light. like a ghost in the daylight? Did your heart break at the sight? Shining like a flickering neon sign. faded broken beams of light. like a ghost in the daylight, I am a distant star in a galaxy spinning wild. With no gravity. And these starry eyes of mine are deflecting secrets but reflecting you. Did I make you curious?
My savior friend. You dig and pull, retreat and bend, candy kisses to help me mend. wanting to be my savior friend, be the keeper of my balance. And I will take you in, easy and warm like a sunbeam. Because I saw you standing there too. My savior friend my savior Did you see me standing there? Shining like a flickering neon sign. faded broken beams of light. like a ghost in the daylight Did your heart break at the sight?
Be the keeper of my balance. and I will take you in, easy and warm like a sunbeam. Because I saw you standing there too.
I didn’t change this poem I wrote in 2019 much at all. It seemed to fit into a song well.
I think we have all been here at one time or another. Bringing someone into your life that you feel will balance you out. Or you become the person that is supposed to balance them out. Perhaps that was you in a relationship, just wanting to make someone happy. Feelings developed and you can’t seem to shake them, even when they are no longer good for you. The balance turns into an unbalance. But you keep pushing on, because you think all this time and good feelings you pump into them will be recognized.
And they will return their feelings to you. And a happy ending ensues. But we all know that doesn’t usually happen. When the one that has reached their balance and are feeling good. They go to someone else, not you. And then we tell ourselves again, once more, we are better than this. But it’s hard to shake them.
Been there. Done that.
